Taste T&T 2008
Port of Spain, Trinidad. Tuesday April 15th, 2008 - Taste T&T 2008 is an exciting culinary concept showcasing the best of Trinidad and Tobago's food while at the same time highlighting the creative talents of the country's top and up-and-coming chefs.
This year, on the May 24th and 25th the Jean Pierre Complex in Port of Spain will be transformed into the country’s largest restaurant with the widest variety of local cuisine infused with some international flavours.
This year's event has some exciting additions including a Taste T&T Recipe and Cooking Competition, Pot Spoon Thrown Down, which is aimed at reintroducing the community element of the festival. Finalists in this competition will vie for the best cook crown as they prepare indigenous dishes like corn soup, bake and shark, doubles and oil down. The finals will take place on May 10th at Adam Smith Square, Port of Spain.
The winner of this competition will join some of the best gourmet chefs in a Demonstration Kitchen where recipes come alive.The weekend's celebrations will be followed by the Taste T&T Restaurant Week when restaurants featured Taste T&T 2008 will be offering fixed specials and coupons to the public to come and sample more delicious cuisine.
